When the North Rhodesia became republic of Zambia in 1964, the Southern Rhodesia became Zimbabwe in 1980s. Can you believe it? It is that recent when South Rhodesia was changed to Zimbabwe in terms of name and everything! However, the legal law systems still have resemblance of the English.Zimbabwe's legal law systems include English common law, Roman dutch-civil law, and customary law.

In present day of Zambia, the capital city is called Lusaka. Unlike South Rhodesia, North Rhodesia gained independence on 1964, officially naming its country the republic of Zambia. Unlike Zimbabwe, there is not much to talk about its present day except the legal systems still have British notion in it. The Republic of Zambia's legal system include English common law, customary law, and judicial view of legislative acts in an ad hoc constitutional council.
