colonies..
The very first two colonies formed were Southern and Northern Rhodesia. These two colonies are bordered by Zambezi River, and the two were considered separate places even today.
Below it is the timeline that shows the evolution of Southern and Northern Rhodesia all the way up to their independence.

The First Matabele War was fought between 1893 and 1894. This war took place because the British wanted to unit Mashonland and Matabeleland into South Rhodesia, also wanting to establish the city of Salisbury. The Matabele Tribe gladly participated in this war in the hopes of destroying Rhodes and the BSA, fury-oiled by the deceit in Rudd Concession. However, do you know what resulted because of this? An outright victory of the British and the desolution of Matabele Tribe.
The most credible reason would be the British had murderous machine guns, while the Matabele Troops had nothing but spears, stone swords, and some rifles.

The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland played a major role in gaining independence. The Feaderation was a semi-independent state in Southern Africa that existed between 1953 to 1964. However, it has nothing to do with the colonization of Rhodesia so let's just leave it dark.
taxations
Surprisingly, little is know about the taxations of Rhodesia. The first reason is, which practically answers my fourth research question, there were no visible conflicts. Since South Rhodesia thrived with white settlers and developed the fastest, it had no problem with their tax. However, North Rhodesia, which had more Native African tribes, struggled to pay the tax they were given.
The British had a Committee that basically organized everything about taxes, and the Committee reported that Northern Rhodesians were struggling to get their payments ensured. Because of this, British decreased the taxes by almost half a price, making it 7s and 6d.
Also, because of this, the rebellion that took place did not reason upon the name of taxation. Very different from what happened in Boston. In Boston, American colonists were fed up with the oppressive acts that pretty much taxed everything they used. This led to Boston Massacre and the Tea Party.

Above are called Rhodesian Pounds. This is the known currency in Rhodesia, however, not being used nowadays. This currency was only available only between 1964 to 1970. Then the currency of both Zimbabwe changed to international, and Zambia invented a new currency called kwacha. We do not yet know what kind of currency the colonists used back at late 1800s. However, most people guess that they used shillings and pence just like the American Colonists.
